Are you an exceptional computer artist and would like to have a place to show off your work? Bemis is having a Teen Tech Week art contest and you are invited to enter your work by March 9, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Here are the art contest rules;

1. There are no size restrictions
2. Enter as many times as you would like
3. Please write your name and phone number on the back of the work
4. Entries will be judged by the Bemis’ TAG
5. Entries should be submitted by March 9, 2007 at 3:00pm
6. All entries should be computer generated
7. Three entries will be awarded a prize and all entries will be displayed in Teen Central
8. Submit work to any Adult Reference Librarian or Anthony

Please join Bemis Anime Team (BAT) for several anime episodes. The feature for the month of March is Basilisk: Scroll of Blood. We will meet to view this and other anime episodes on Tuesday, March 13 at 3:30. Light refreshments will be served.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is looking for new members. We have a desire to grow and bring ideas to Bemis Public Library. The next TAG meeting is February 23, from 3:30 to 4:00. Only 1/2 hour long! Please join us. Light refreshments will be provided.

Please join Bemis Anime Team (BAT) for the showing of Yu Yu Hakusho this next Tuesday, February 13 at 3:30. We will watch at least one episode of this and other dvds. Light refreshments will be served.

Do you like WWF wrestling? Do you want a DVD of wrestling action? If you happen to see this post and come to the library between the 12th through the 15th of February and can tell me the name of a teen or YA book you have checked out at Bemis and read, you will receive one of two DVDs or one of three t-shirts. In other words, 5 prizes will be given to anyone that has read a teen or YA Bemis Book! When you come please ask for Anthony.

Due to the tremendous snowfall we just got, some Bemis teens got their creative energy going to create this evil looking snowperson named Peter. Isn't Colorado in the winter simply great?

The Red Cross Babysitting class was great! There were 13 participants, and they learned a variety of skills necessary in taking care of children. Here are pictures of the participants in various exercises they did during the day.

Tuesday, January 9, Bemis Anime Team (BAT), we will watch several episodes of various anime features. Light refreshments will be served from 3:30 to 4:30

Thursday, January 18, Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), come and have fun dancing at Bemis! 3:30 to 4:30, and light refreshments will be served.

Friday, January 26, Teen Advisory Group (TAG), open to teens that would like to have an opinion of the teen events happening at Bemis Public Library. 3:30 to 4:00, only one half hour long!

Wednesday, January 31, Chinese Paper Cuts, create a paper cut art project to help you usher in the Chinese New Year. 3:30 to 4:30

Please join the Bemis Anime Team for the viewing of "Kiddy Grade". We will watch this presentation along with at least three other episodes of other anime features. Kiddy Grade will be shown at 3:30 followed by the other features.

Bemis had a great week of Teen Read activities! We had a great showing for the free book and bookmark day, and an even better turnout for the Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) program on Thursday, October 19. Please join the Bemis Anime Team (BAT) as we watch Negima!: Magic 101: the basis of magic. Vampires, robots, sorcery...and that's all before gym class! Wizard-in-Training Negi Springfield is only 10 years old, but he also happens to be the newest English teacher at the all-girl Mahora Academy. If he can lead the class successfully, Negi will fulfill the final requirement in his quest to become a Magister Magorum...but if he messes it up and the students find out about his special powers, he is doomed to be transformed into a furry ermine! Watch this new anime feature on November 14, 2006 at 3:30 pm.

Ted Snook, Lector Priest, of the Egyptian Study Society did a fun and fact filled presentation about Egyptian Hieroglyphs here at Bemis on September 13. Here are some pictures of the program taken by Ashley.

Teens, Bemis offers a variety of programs throughout the school year, all are held at 3:30 (unless noted) so that you can come to them after school. The programs for the month of September are:

• September 12 Anime Club will watch the movie, "Tenchi Muyo! GXP: Out of this World!"
• September 13 Egyptian Hieroglyphs- a member of the Egyptian Study Society will lead us in a program investigating the ancient Egyptian writing system
• September 21 Come and enjoy Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) in the large meeting room
• September 22 Join the Youth Advisory Council as we discuss issues pertaining to teen patrons
• September 26 Wood Burning (Burn a design onto a piece of wood using burning irons)

Hoang-Meet the Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Hoang is 13 years old and he is a seventh grader at Euclid Middle School. Hoang describes himself as being creative, funny, and a game and anime freak. Apart from liking games and anime, Hoang loves to hang out with his friends, ride his bike, fish, draw, and play basketball. He has one brother and his family is from Vietnam. He is in an advanced algebra class and he is very proud to have a girlfriend. Hoang is the main TAG organizer for a Runescape program that will be held on November 24.

Genesis-Meet the Teen Advisory Group (TAG)

Genesis is 12 and attends Goddard Middle School. She is in the seventh grade and describes herself as energetic, outgoing, and creative. Genesis includes reading murder mysteries and animal adventures, helping animals (as a pet sitter and just for fun), and babysitting as some of her hobbies. She comes from a very small family and she is about to have a baby sister. She got her unique name because her mom was at a beginning point in her life and genesis means "beginning". In addition to her unique first name, Genesis' middle name is Aurora, another great and unique name.
