On Tuesday, May 9th, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm the Bemis Anime Team will watch and review the anime called "Burst Angel". Light refreshments will be served.

A Bemis teen recently submitted this poem in a contest and won second prize. It is presented here with an illustration done by the writer.

Bemis along with Littleton Police recently held CSI:Bemis a program that allowed participants to learn several techniques used in crime investigation. The techniques were footprint reading and casting, and fingerprint dusting and lifting.

Bemis is in need of a new logo to highlight teen activities at the library. So far two designs have been submitted, and more should be coming. These two were created by a student (who will remain anonymous until a contest to decide the new logo is done) from Littleton High School.

Bemis' Makeover program went quite nicely! Kelli and Sabrina gave each of the participants a lot of great skin, hair, and nail advice plus some pampering!Here are some pictures from the event.

Congratulations to Hoang Dinh! He won a second place in Koelbel Library's Anime Drawing contest. He competed against 26 other artists to earn his prize. Hoang is a consistent and motivated member of Bemis' Manga/Anime club and he is shown here with one of his drawings.

On February 8, 2006 between 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Bemis is happy to announce Makeover! a teen program that will focus on hair, nails, and skin care. Bemis is proud to partner with Cuttin' it loose to bring this fun program to your library. Representing Cuttin' it loose will be Kelli and Sabrina. We hope to see you there and bring your moms!

Review of 24 girls in 7 days

Prom. The big night every girl and, in Jack Grammar’s case, boy has been dreaming of since day one. It is only seven days until Prom night and everyone has a date. Everyone except Jack. And the only things sadder than Jacks love life are little kids that get lost in supermarkets and old people who lose their glasses on top of their head. So Natalie and Percy, Jack’s two best friends, decide to intervene by posting an ad online called MyNewPromDate@yahoo.com. In 24 girls in 7 days, by Alex Bradley, Jack has to choose between a list of twenty-four girls in only seven days. Initially Jack would rather have nothing to do with this online ad but as he gets sucked in and things will change for him forever.
This hilarious book is great for any high school students who have been without a date for a big dance. This fast paced book keeps the reader on their toes and continues to twist the plot to make the end unpredictable. Because of this once the book is picked it up won’t be put down until it ends. The readers are advised to set aside some time to sink into Jacks life as he finds out if this online ad was a good idea after all.

Today I met a colorful, bubbly, outspoken, confident, self-proclaimed dork, and opinionated young lady named Lisa Tinglum.

Lisa is 14, and a freshman at Heritage High School. She simply loves her French and advisory classes. She really likes her World Civilization class, not due to the topic, but due to the really fun World Civ teacher. Lisa is an avid reader and likes books that have a point, message, or really engage her interest. Some of her favorite books include Click Here, TTYL, The Two Princesses of Bamarre, Jailbait, and 24 Girls in 7 Days.

Lisa is happiest when she is either acting or debating. She acted in Heritage's Fall Play called "Under Milk Wood" written by Dylan Thomas. Finally, Lisa has aspirations to compete in debate at the NFL level (National Forensics League). She wore this great hat and socks!

Teen Introduction

In order to get to know as many teens as I can, I will be interviewing several a month and posting the interviews (and pictures when possible) on this blog.

Name: Hoang Dinh, age 11, 6th grade student.
Hoang likes to draw, and play and exchange Yu-Gi-Oh cards with his friends. Some of his favorite books include the Harry Potter series, Eldest by Christopher Paolini, and various types of manga novels. He describes himself as smart, goofy, and likes to mess with his teachers. His favorite subject in school is math, and he is taking pre-algebra!
